Default Carbon Bars - Easton Haven- Good idea or not?

I've recently purchased some Carbon Haven bars and I'm having second thoughts about using them.

Does anyone have any experience with carbon bars? Used them for racing/hucking? They are supposed to be mega strong, but have read all sorts of stuff about what you should install on them and how. For instance can I use lock on grips with them? I can't see why not, but have seen references to not using them. I'm probably just being paranoid.

Any sensible advice would be appreciated.

I've been using a set of RaceFace Sixc for over 2 years. Paired with a Straitline stem and ODi Ruffians.
I don't use any carbon paste stuff on them and had no issues.
Its been on numerous trips to the Alps and done the Mega. All kinds of riding really... as long as it is fast and trends down.
I look after my bike when I'm done riding, but during I'm not precious about it at all.

Got the Havoc 35s a few weeks ago... wider and lighter than my old RFs! Love them
